BritPack is born!

Blog Mirabeau story

Allow me to introduce you to the Brit Pack! So, what’s it all about? The Brit Pack is made up of 4 British families who moved to the south of France to become wine producers. Along with us at Mirabeau Wine, the members are Charles & Ruth Simpson of Domaine Sainte Rose, James & Catherine Kinglake of Domaine Begude and Robert Eden of Chateau Maris. A dedicated website is under development and should be up and running in May.

A passion for wine brought each of us to the south of France. But we all came with a very different perspective, which we believe is what sets us apart. This allows us to combine the best of both worlds by combining a British perspective on wine with the heritage of winemaking in France.

We know that in order to succeed in a highly competitive global market we need to be innovative and dynamic in terms of viticulture, winemaking and marketing.

We are all rising to the challenge and have come together as a group to promote our common goals as members of the Brit Pack. The Brit Pack wines are (or soon will be) available at Waitrose and on WaitroseDirect.

I became captivated with the world of wine whilst on a visit to the Barossa Valley during my gap year in Australia. I went on to join a London wine merchant and studied wine for several years before starting my own wine business at 24. I sold the business aged 30 and went into Telecoms for 15 years, during which time I began cooking up the plan to create Mirabeau.
