L’Amandier de Mougins

The Southern French coast, affectionately called the Côte d’Azur after its azure sea and sky, is appreciated around the world for its beautiful beaches and scenic harbor bays. Tucked inland, one also finds charming towns and villages. Less than 10kms from the glamorous city of Cannes, is the picturesque village of Mougins, adored by artists and iconic celebrities.

It not only offers a vibrant art scene but also a smorgasbord of dining experiences. One of the outstanding stars in the 40 local restaurants is the l’Amandier de Mougins. Of historical importance, the restaurant is housed in the ancient building that served as the court house for the Monks of Saint Honorat during the Middle Ages, and later became an almond mill in the 18th/19th centuries.

With a floor area of 1,000 m2 on 3 floors, L’Amandier was founded in 1969 by the legendary chef Roger Vergé, and quickly set the benchmark for creative, flavour-packed Niçoise cuisine, and established itself as a must-visit venue for artists holidaying on the Côte d’Azur. In the early 21st century, L’Amandier became rather sleepy … until its reopening in 2011 following extensive renovation and refurbishment directed by Denis Fétisson.

In homage to Roger Vergé, a private dining room was created to host up to 20 guests and beautifully decorated with assistance from Roger’s wife Denise. The menu celebrates the true tradition of the creator of Cuisine de Soleil; the man who has come to symbolise conviviality and sharing.

The outdoor dining terrace overlooks the spectacular plateau of Mougins and its picturesque surroundings. Different tasting menus and à la Carte platters offer an unforgettable dining experience, and Mirabeau is honoured that our own star has joined such esteemed ranks!

Diners can enjoy a glass of Etoile Provence Rosé and even a G&T or gin cocktail with our Dry Rosé Gin and are beautiful complements to the Mediterranean aromas captured in their delicious dishes.
