Mirabeau Rosé is top BBQ Wine

When buying wine for a barbecue, there is a temptation to go for cheap and cheerful. Resist it – especially if you’re planning an al fresco feast.

Whether you’re outdoors or in, good food deserves wine to match, and this week I’ve chosen some robustly flavoured bottles that work wonderfully well with barbecue fare.

Mirabeau Rosé 2013, Côtes de Provence, France – £8.99, Waitrose, 12.5% alcohol

Bright pink in colour, this delicious Provençal rosé would be a welcome sight at any barbecue. Fresh, tangy and bright, with lovely cherry and raspberry fruit, it’s dry and wonderfully pure.
