Three Botanicals Gin Cocktail

This is inspired by the thud of our first home grown Citron de Menton dropping in to say – I’m ready use me! As well as the lemon I’ve used some rose syrup (Rose de Mai) and a sprig of rosemary to hit three of the twelve botanicals in our gin. In fact we use lemon zest and peel so technically four plus I garnished it with jasmine flowers and thyme, for six of the twelve. A delicious long drink.

Ingredients

  • 50ml – Mirabeau Rosé Gin
  • 20ml – fresh lemon juice
  • 10ml – rose syrup (Sirop de Rose de Mai if you can)
  • A hint of Grenadine
  • 100ml – soda water
  • A sprig of rosemary (gently bruised to release the aromas) mixed with a twist of lemon to oil the glass

Method

  1. Take a long glass and moisten the rim with the fragrant rosemary and twist of lemon.
  2. Shake the Mirabeau Rosé Gin, fresh lemon juice, rose syrup and Grenadine together in an ice filled shaker.
  3. Strain into the ice-filled glass and top with soda water.
  4. Garnish with the rosemary, lemon twist, a couple of jasmine flowers if they happen to be growing in your garden and some sprigs of thyme.
  5. Bring on a few more lunch time revelations…….
