IWSC shortlist Julian Brind Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Wine Industry

The International Wine and Spirit Competition has revealed its shortlists for the 2015 Trophy Awards, and it’s a delight to see that Stephen has been nominated for the The Julian Brind Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Wine Industry Shortlist along with Michael & Charlotte Sager Wilde, Justin Howard-Sneyd MW, Gavin Monery and Nikhil Agarwall. The winner will be announced during the gala on 26 November 2015 in the Guildhall.

Julian Brind MW (5 November 1942 – 19 December 2010) was a British Master of Wine and Director of buying wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks for the Waitrose supermarket chain. Brind was a key figure in the transformation of the British wine trade from the 1970s onwards, and since his death several awards and scholarships have been established to commemorate his career in the wine trade.

In 2011 The Wine and Spirit Education Trust established The Julian Brind Memorial Scholarship. In the same year the International Wine and Spirit Competition established the Julian Brind Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Wine Industry.
