Provence Wedding Wine

Blog Events

Since our boutique opened in the heart of picturesque Cotignac, we’ve welcomed enquiries from brides and grooms around the world who are planning their dream wedding in Provence. The main question is which wine to drink with which course, and how does rosé fit into the picture?

Provence rosé wine is THE perfect wedding wine!

You can welcome guests with our pale rosé as an aperitif, and then in full confidence, carrying on serving the same wine with the meal! It’s got a light, fruity acidity that one enjoys in a white wine, but because it’s made with red grapes, there’s enough body and structure to make it a perfect accompaniment to food.

Chances are you may already be familiar with our two rosé styles, Pure and Classic, but we understand and respect that guests often want to stick with their familiar colours, so we also recommend our delicious sparkling rosé and red wines.

Contact us to chat about your Provence wedding wine, and visit our wine cellar in Cotignac to taste the wines. Please note: we export our rosés and there’s normally plenty of stock available, but our other wines are made in limited quantities. To avoid disappointment, we kindly request that you contact us timeously.

How much wine to order?

An essential question with a tricky answer: it depends … on how much people drink, and on which other drinks would be served too like soft drinks, beer, spirits, beer, etc. The length of time that people will be drinking also affects the required quantity i.e. will the wedding be a few hours in the evening, or a whole day affair? Below are the normal quantities but these can be affected very much depending on your circumstances and crowd:

  • A glass of wine averages 200ml = 4 glasses per bottle
  • A glass of sparkling wine averages 120ml = 6 glasses per bottle
  • Wine : 1 bottle for 2 persons (for all the dinner, starter and main course but without the aperitif)
  • Sparkling or Champagne : 1 bottle for 3 persons (just for dessert or aperitif included the wine during the dinner)

Group wine tasting

As most guests are out-of-town, many couples like to organise other events leading up to the wedding, like enjoying an authentic wine tasting. We offer private wine tasting events in our wine cellar for groups of 8 – 35 people with a presentation of Mirabeau’s story. An apéro could be arranged to enjoy with the wine tasting.
