When should I cellar a wine, for how long (and what if I don’t have cellar!)?

Blog Demystifying Wine

You do not need a cellar in order to start collecting wine and in fact most wine is made to be drunk young. Here Stephen talks to TV journalist and wine blogger Kendall Harris (Wine2Three) about the types of wine for cellaring and how to get started. You needn’t spend a fortune to start collecting wine and it can be a lot of fun to see how your favourite wines develop over time.

I’d like to thank my dear friend Richard Wiesener for letting me film in his beautiful cellar.

I became captivated with the world of wine whilst on a visit to the Barossa Valley during my gap year in Australia. I went on to join a London wine merchant and studied wine for several years before starting my own wine business at 24. I sold the business aged 30 and went into Telecoms for 15 years, during which time I began cooking up the plan to create Mirabeau.
